★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really fantastic short (1hr) walk through the bush. The circular loop takes you through a great variety of forest, from dense manuka scrub, craggy beech trees through to swampy podocarp forest dotted with towering totara, kahikatea, matai and miro. Lots of interesting fungi and mosses to look at in the undergrowth, and a stunning view of the whole valley from the lookout south.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I loved the 3 options of the circular walk. It was well covered from the bit of drizzle falling, and it was sheltered from wind too. It was a good walk, I'm not fast and the 3 options took me 35mins, 50mins and 75mins. Enough view points to have a breather and heaps of bird song to keep you company.
