★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When looking up dog friendly walks, perhaps don't put Fensham Reserve as one. Drove all the way out here to read a sign that says no dogs allowed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely bush walk, the track is well maintained and quite narrow encouraging the bush, in places, to close overhead to give a feeling of being in a bush tunnel. The mature forest is quite stunning with humungous Matai trees. One of the best short walks in NZ.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Extremely well maintained bush walk through amazing native forest. Some trees seem to be older than the first settlement of humans in New Zealand. Watch for trees, birds and bees.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely bush, huge miro and totara. Lots of tui, fantails and waxeyes. Interesting fungi. Nice 1hr circuit walk. Well worth a visit.
