An iconic building on the Auckland waterfront. A mark of marine history of NZ. Now a days used as the Ferry terminal.

An old building at the waterfront of Auckland's downtown, in front of the downtown ferry wharf. After it got renovated and strengthen, it's now houses several upscale restaurants; unfortunately, the best feature of those restaurants are the view. Especially with their price tags. Luckily some of the non-restaurant vendors are quite good.

The reality of the building does not consist of the roof and walls, but the space within to be lived ... Lao tzu

Nice place, but very crowded and huge renovation going on all around. Probably very nice when works are finished.

Extremely difficult to find the pier for the Hobsonville ferry, lots of twists and turns from the bus stop. You should allow 10 - 25 minutes to ensure to catch the ferry you planned, then you won't miss it. Very poor and irresponsible traffic management. Really frustrating.

Great views of, within and through this remarkable early Auckland building. Plenty of food outlets ensures that it is always crowded. The ferry building needs a further upgrade. The layout for ferry departures is confusing. And the mix of heritage architecture and passenger flow needs a clearer design. However, this is a people place and is always enjoyable to travel through.

Nice and clean. Has public restrooms, shops and restaurants. Lots of places to sit and relax. Friendly staff available to help and answer questions. Get an AT HOP card if you plan on using the public transportation such as trains, bus, or ferries. You will save a bundle. New Zealand is such a great place to visit.

Beautiful architecture in my opinion compared to alot of the new buildings being erected . I remember coming here as a young kid in the late 80's early 90's and playing in the empty buildings at shed21 lol . Its definatley improved , now there's great restaurants like Botswana butchery and harbourside , plus a gelato ice cream shop and an oyster bar . Great memories for me .
