β β β β β We were going to drive ourselves to Milford Sound but I'm glad we didn't - this was a much better option. We got to sit back and look at the scenery and stopped at a bunch of places that we most likely would not have visited. As we left from Te Anau it meant we had plenty of time for lots of stops.
It was a smaller bus and Jamie the driver was a great guide. As we're not seasoned takers of organised tours it took us a short moment to get into the groove and the banter, but we settled in for the ride quite nicely.
The visit to Gunns campground was interesting where we had a scone and cup of tea (take your insect repellent). Our cut lunch on Milford Sound was also great value - big sandwich, drink, muffin, apple and a Whittakers choccy.
Very nice being able to drive straight into Milford and be taken direct to the boat and off onto the water. Very 'cruisy'!
Return journey was great getting to stop at the Chasm and Gunns Lake.
Highly recommend taking this tour. It's great value. Ours was booked through Cruise Milford so we didn't know who would be running the tour part but glad it was this company.

β β β β β I highly rate this tour company and in my book, they are probably the best. We had such an awesome time during our recent tramps in the Fiordlands as everything was well planned out for us.
This is a company that is small enough to care and extremely accommodating. Ray and his team of experienced guides made sure we were well looked after and ensuring our safety during the walks.
We can't change the weather but Ray was flexible enough to move things around so that we had the best outcome during our few days in the Fiordlands.
We have more to do in the Fiordlands and Fiordland Tours will be called upon again to plan another fun trip for us soon.

Amazing road trip over to Milford with spectacular scenery, plenty of photo stops, short walks, coffee and scones en route snd a fascinating commentary from our driver Jono. He had an expansive knowledge and genuine love for the region which was so interesting. A cruise on the Sound topped off the day which again, was a very professional operation. Even more special for me was my dog was cared for while I was on tour AND I didnt have to drive!! A truly special day. Thank you so much Ray, Leonie and of course, Jono!!

β β β β β A great day from start to finish. Jonno our driver was a mind of information stopping several times along the way to let us enjoy the sights and sounds of this incredible journey. He even produced morning tea of fresh scones tea and coffee at one stop.
Lunch was provided which was lovely and fresh from a pre ordered service as part of the great service from this small company. We would highly recommend them and you should book direct.

β β β β β We just loved this tour. We normally drive ourselves & we were worried we'd not have many photo stops & feel rushed. We didn't have to worry, Jonathan our guide & driver was great. We had time to walk & wander & take loads of photos! It was very relaxing. The scones for morning tea were great & we were given a packed lunch to take on the boat. Of course the cruise was stunning! We then had time to meander around Milford & to make more stops on our return βΊοΈ Highly recommend this tour. 9hrs all up & every minute fabulous! The drive through to Milford Sound is part of the experience..take the time .. don't just rush to the boat!

β β β β β We loved this tour. Ray, our guide, was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. We were going to drive it ourselves it so glad we didnβt. Ray was full of interesting information and knew all the best spots to stop for photos etc. He even took us on the boat and showed us the best seats! We loved the little quizzes and chocolate prizes as well. A fabulous day and next time weβre back weβll definitely go with Fiordland tours.

β β β β β A totally outstanding experience. Ray the owner was totally on to it. His communication was excellent and timely.
Gareth our driver was extremely knowlegable and passionate about Fiordland and what an absolute salt of the earth guy. He made the trip super fun and wonderfully interactive with local stories from his own family history in the region. It was both informative and entertaining.
One amazing highlight was a stop for tea and scones in the middle of nowhere overlooking a mountain with a glacier on it. A definite bucket list moment.
Because we went on a Monday the group was small (only two couples) and we thought that the trip may be cancelled, but it went ahead and we practically got a private tour.
The packed lunch we ordered was really delicious and was catered by a local restaurant in Te Anau ... What a nice touch.
At Fiordland, we were linked in with Mitre Peak cruises ...
There was no issues with tickets or boarding passes, we simply left the shuttle van, and boarded the boat ...
And what an Amazing experience! The crew were professional and courteous and keen to chat. Complimentary coffee and tea was available in the galley throughout the tour and was a warm welcome after being drenched under the waterfall (yup they put the bow under the falls for the adventurous few who wanted to experience the full force of nature)
All in all, a completely magical experience thanks to Fiordland Tours.
A big shout out to Ray and his fantastic team for one of the best experiences of my life.
