★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Historical, scenic spot that also looks beautiful at sunset with the trees, water, and Rangitoto in the distance behind. Cool in that the barracks are all below ground and you can walk all around and above them, but I haven't been inside on any tours yet (I think they do tours?). Lots of other battery fortifications and such around this fort and park to walk around and enjoy.
