★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Why these small town council's want to put us motorhomers in fenced off areas, packed in like sardines when there is a huge empty field right there is beyond me. The designated area was packed and super muddy. We deemed it too hazardous so moved 200metres away. We were told to move and were threatened with a fine!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice spot at the end of Ōhope spit on the harbour side. One night self-contained only stay, can be quite busy especially if you get a few big campers in there. Terrain's a bit unlevel so some spots better than others. Quiet at night, can be a bit windy, cellphone service reasonable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lots of free space for campers. Freedom camping is allowed but not tenting. There is also a boat ramp for offloading boats. Lots of trees providing shade. It is very quiet and nice wind. We saw one camper van fined by authorities. We do not know why. Great place to relax.
