★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Over the last few months I’ve purchased a number of items from the Thorndon Freedom store, each time I’ve dealt with the very helpful and informative Drew. Every time he has gone the extra mile so that I end up with the best product for me, showing me other options which I’ve ended up purchasing and loving. If you’re in the store ask for Drew he’s awesome, doesn’t make promises he can’t keep and keeps you informed along the way - definitely going above and beyond!

For more detail I can go through my experience with them.
I was looking for a couch for my new place. It needed to look great and feel great. I also wanted to purchase in Wellington from a physical store so I could demo the couch. I visited every store in the region and was frustrated to not sit on anything that fit my description. I went to Freedom Wellington last and was completely surprised to find 2 possible couch options at incredibly competitive price points. Suddenly my challenge went from not being able to find one couch to picking between 2.
The customer service was excellent. I ended up returning to Freedom SEVERAL times trying to determine which was the couch for me. In total 3-4 different salespeople served me and they were all great. They did not make me feel bad for repeatedly coming in and not purchasing anything. They were incredibly helpful with product information. When I purchased the couch they were completely transparent about how long it would take to deliver the couch and they were bang on with the ETA (It may have even been a couple of weeks early which was a bonus). Every time I came into the store they gave me a friendly nod as if to say that they remembered me and I felt most welcome.
I also think the physical store itself is the best looking furniture store in Wellington. Previously, I liked going into Nood because they stage their couches in a way that makes it easy to envision their products in your house. Freedom felt like a bigger version of that and I was surprised that I hadn't gone to Freedom more often in the past. Freedom Wellington is now my first store I go to for homeware needs/inspiration. I have also bought other products from them since this initial purchase and my experience with them has been consistent, if not easier. Free parking is also a huge bonus when shopping in the CBD.
I completely love all the products I have bought from here and my experience with Freedom Wellington has been amazing. Great job team! See you again soon!

Received a phone-call 2 weeks later stating they had a computer error on a discount item and asking me to pay them an additional $60 for this. - My partner kindly went it to do this and wasted an hour of her day sorting out the bill. Found the whole thing very petty and strange for a company based on their error. Definitely don't have costumer care at heart.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst after-sell service I have ever dealt with in New Zealand. The delivery team left the large sofa outside the door. Pls note we have paid the delivery fee when we bought the sofa. Called the helpline and was suggested to pay another $220 to move the furniture in. Also the guy promised to call me back at the same day for other possible solution. But I have never received any call back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I paid for a bed back in November. They said it will be delivered in January 2022. Here I am in May and it still waiting. They are happy to take your money and keep you waiting. I'm getting my money back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The worse customer service I’ve ever encountered in New Zealand. Freedom appear to be pathological liars. They simply just do not operate with any form of integrity, with management telling lies. Very shocked at just how poor the service is. Don’t answer phone, never return calls and the emails tell lies. No wonder it’s going into receivership. Wish I’d checked the reviews before wasting my time and money on this underhanded and divisive organisation. Would love to be free of Freedom but the saga continues. Should rename Incarcerated. 0/100. Just yuck ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Andre could not have been more helpful. While considering a couch/ottoman combo up in Auckland, only the Wellington store had both. Andre kindly got photos so I could see them together. Now I can buy them without worrying for months they won’t work! Thanks again Andre!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered a matching couch and ottoman. The couch was 6 months late and then the ottoman never showed up, we were refunded for it. As compensation we were given vouchers which we bought a mattress with….. the mattress was meant to turn up in April as it was ‘already on a container’. We are still waiting. Terrible. Don’t buy here if you actually want your furniture. Half convinced the company is an elaborate Ponzi scam.
