โ โ โ โ โ Was not expecting that! Great coffee, solid food, beautifully made scones. All served by low-key lovely people. Who are these polite OG hospo heroes? Why do they know so much about pulling shots and spinning cow? Why do I have to consider driving from Tai Tapu to Templeton for coffee?

โ โ โ โ โ My wife and I met friends for brunch at the Gatehouse Cafe this morning (Sunday 20/3/22). It was our first visit but it won't be our last. We both ordered french toast with banana, bacon & maple syrup. The banana was fresh i.e. not cooked which is just the way I like it. The bacon & french toast were beautiful, the bacon was freshly cooked and not reheated and crispy/burnt as is most often the case.
Our flat white & cappachino were perfect culminating in this being our best brunch out in many years!
The staff were friendly and despite there being many other customers there this morning it was not noisy and conversation at our table was easy to hear.
I recommend this Cafe for both its menu & cabinet food, coffee, service & atmosphere. Its pricing was less than 'average' with our french toast, bacon & banana costing $18

โ โ โ โ โ Have just had an awesome "LG Brekky" at the Gatehouse Cafe.
Very good value and lovely food, friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere. Well worth the trip across town for morning brunch. Great coffee too.

โ โ โ โ โ Our first visit here, thanks to a random search in Google Maps and we are so happy to have found this gem! Delicious vanilla latte and chai, tasty salads with lots of texture and flavour, and a spacious interior with lots of natural light. All at a decent price! Can't wait to return and hopefully sit outside on a sunnier day. Oh and the gentleman behind the counter was lovely too. Thanks!
