Yesterday was our first time going to Gibbston, after some holidays in Bendigo, we decided to got for lunch on set menu matching wines, which you’ll think it’s the best option to experience the food and of course, the wine in a famous winery in NZ. Service was terrible, no one explained anything about the food and wine, the waiter seemed rushed, don’t know why, cause the restaurant was not even busy. Maybe because we look younger than the usual customers? Like, no knowledge or money to spend? That’s nonsense and frustrating. We were still drinking the starters Pinot Gris, didn’t even ask us if we were ready for the mains and just simply came with the red wine. I had to say to hold back the food and he said he had already sent mains away to the kitchen, not being understanding and sympathetic at all. We work in hospitality and I know this wasn’t a high standard service you would expect for Gibbston Valley, especially for the price we paid. Not recommend it, instead, choose a smaller winery, attentive service and generous and friendly staff. The only good thing was the food, non innovative but tasty, compliments to the chefs!

Gorgeous winery and restaurant! It's definitely one of my favorites in the country purely for the fact it is in Pinot noir country but also because it is one of the most interesting wineries to pay a visit to. The garden and the restaurant is perfect if you'd like to have a long lunch. If you are popping in for a short visit then the tastings or the wine cave tour are perfect for that. Fantastic range of wines, cheeses and chocolates. Highly recommend visitng if you're in Queenstown.

Beautiful winery. We had a small hiccup but it was rectified straight away. Alex was amazing!!! We were a table of 7 and all of us will be back! 7 happy campers from Auckland.?

Loved it here. Just popped in for a look around and stayed for a few hours. Absolutely outstanding service from Bindy, can't speak highly of her enough. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here and can't wait to come back.

We stopped at the restaurant as part of bike ride of the Gibbston Valley . It has great presence with a cheese tasting and cellar door as well as the restaurant . Warm welcome by the team . We sat outside in the courtyard in full sunshine enjoyed the Pinot gris . We ordered the lamb and triple fried potatoes and veges to share the lamb fell to bits it was cooked to perfection and tasted as good as it looked the potatoes crispy and served with a lite sour cream were fab and fresh veges . We felt like we had enjoyed the best meal in the district ? Totally recommend

The service was great and friendly staff. Most of the food was good but the vegetarian dish was very disappointing and not what was their menu on website. A piece of roasted pumpkin with a little bit of hummus and seeds that was more expensive than the flounder! The sparking water we ordered at $11 a bottle was flat. We sent it back but we’re still charged for it and we ordered one desert but got two. Things like the spoiled the experience?

Awesome platter of food which was easily big enough to feed 2 of us for lunch. Wine tasting was great too, especially liked that they had a few different wine tasting menus to choose from so you could choose all white wine if you wanted. Service was great too!

The Gnocchi were seriously delicious, with a very fresh and interesting taste. I wish the portion size was bigger, as I didn’t want it to end! Our french server was absolutely lovely, he was kind and funny and made sure we always had a great glass of wine the whole time we were there. Hopefully we‘ll be back for more, as I would love to go on a tour of the barrel hall!
