A warm welcome to our Centre to embark your children on an exciting learning journey through exploration and play, in an environment that empowers them to achieve their full potential, and become young achievers.
Our vision is “to provide a foundation to enable a successful and productive life”.
A brief History
Founded in 1992 as a playgroup, with a vision of being pivotal in preparing our young children for school. Our passion for teaching and vision to support our community led us to become a fully licensed Early Childhood Centre in 1996, operating mainly as sessions. In response to increasing demand the Centre expanded its operating hours in 2010 to offer full day service to our families as well as 20 hours free ECE. In 2015 the Centre introduced flexible options to better suit the lifestyle and learning needs of our pupils and their families and are currently offering 30 hours free for all 3 to 5 year old children.
Who we are-
We are a non-profit community organisation, run by a group of voluntary committee members. Our Centre is located in the grounds of Glenavon School and offers 20 hours free education and care. We not only offer our services to families from Blockhouse Bay but to surrounding areas that include Avondale, New Windsor, New Lynn and Mt. Roskill. Our Curriculum-
Our programme is based on Te Whaariki (NZ Early Childhood Curriculum).
The programme is built on the prior knowledge, experiences, skills, attitudes and cultural identities that children and families bring to the Centre. Their interests and strengths are supported and nurtured and help them to develop competencies for school. We endeavour to meet with you to discuss your child’s learning and progress, and to develop shared goals for your child.

They love their kids and genuinely make the effort to ensure they are learning, well looked after and are engaged in numerous . My daughter loves going to school and so will yours.
