It’s a new season at Glenavon School.
We are a growing, multicultural school in Blockhouse Bay with big dreams. Our aim is for every child to reach their full potential and we have a proud record of high achievers. We acknowledge that success comes from a strong link between home and school and we work hard to maintain our strong community partnerships.
Our focus is strongly on student achievement; not just in reading, writing and maths, but in all areas of the curriculum.
We are a Year 1 – 8 school with a Community Hub, an Early Childhood and Te Ara Hou unit attached, and have a unique community atmosphere. Senior students are actively encouraged to be leaders in their school and community.
Our teachers are creative and have high expectations of themselves and their students. We strive to create meaningful and engaging contexts for our students so that they develop a love for learning.

My daughters 2 year before she started we visited this one and new windsor honestly new windsor admin was so rude and just gave me an off vibe about the place reasons why I did not choose that school for my daughter. I was told since she was only 4 at the time she would need to wait for term 4 and she βmight beβ considered but would be on the waiting list. When coming to visit glenavon every single staff member was lovely and they even said she could start that week even being so close to the end of the year. I was amazed at how friendly everyone was and I knew that was the school I wanted my daughter to go to. Since attending Iβve never had any issue and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of enrolling there child here. Super friendly and welcoming staff every visit :)
