★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've always loved going here. It's so peaceful, relaxing, stress free, comfortable and just a location to soak up all that nature. It's a place where the kids can just be kids and every camper gets along with no care in the world.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've read the other reviews and partially agree with the state of the bathrooms and amenities being somewhat rundown and needing upgrading and/or needing a more thorough clean. However, as a very relaxed and friendly site with incredible views you can't go wrong with their price points. It's not the Hilton and don't think they ever wanted to present it in that way. It's a simple campground on a first in first served basis, and while the idea of not being able to book online or over the phone might present difficulties for some people, I personally think it's a massive bonus as you're always guaranteed a place to pitch your tent (for those with massive tents or caravans this may be different).
Love the bonfire each night, and the free range kids and dogs playing before dusk.
Each to their own but I always try to come once a year just to get away from it all. I personally hate the vibe and price of Top 10 holiday parks - neighbours are far too close and there's a distinct lack of a vibe in those sort of places, not to mention an over abundance of Karen types lol.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hidden Gem, What an awesome place, dog friendly and People friendly, all are welcome no matter who. Loved the fire pit on our last night, other campers playing guitar, singing and dancing everyone felt welcomed. Camp is up a long gravel drive lol trailer didn't make it up so campers helped by pushing from the back, but next time I know to just keep your speed up and you will be sweet. Awesome hot showers after a long day at the beach snorkeling hot water is included in your stay, Kitchens are a bit tired and have lots of spider webs but doesn't effect your stay the spiders are friendly too. Kitchens and bathrooms where clean and campers actually got in an cleaned too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ At first this place seemed great. However, we soon became acquainted with the resident possum population which got into our leftovers from bbq.
It was obvious these possums were quite comfortable and no one made an effort to control them. Explains the complete lack of bird sing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you’re after a 5-star hotel this is not the place for you, however if you’re after a spot to camp that has the necessities you need then keep reading!!! We found this place amazing. It had what we needed (bathroom, toilet and kitchen facilities). Yes I agree it could do with a lick of paint here and there but again it’s everything you needed. The environment was laid back, the kitchen areas nice and roomy, the common room and bbq areas were big enough to cater for our big family. The kids were free to play and had heaps of space to run around. The camp fire was amazing and the kids had so much fun toasting marshmallows. We saw the bathroom and kitchen facilities getting cleaned so the place is well looked after!! Great price, great atmosphere and fully catered for our big group - loved the fact that the cell phone service was intermittent which meant more chatting and laughing all together as a family. Thank you team @goatislandcamp - yes we will be back!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had an amazing stay. Plenty of space for a group of 20 over the Easter long weekend! Very relaxed vibe and we never felt like we were being too loud or imposing on anyone else’s experience. Nightly bonfires and even a food truck on some nights! They also have snorkel gear for hire which is great. Bathrooms were cleaned daily but the shower could be better. Definitely seen worse and wasn’t a biggie at all. Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to bad weather but we’ll definitely be back. Thank you!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was quite reluctant to go camping there after reading all the bad reviews, however was absolutely surprised at how well kept the place was. Clean toilets and showers, just a few cicadas to greet you in there. The kitchen and common area was clean and tidy, and the camp site was AMAZING. No trouble with other campers, kids loved the little playground area and all the space to run around and hide. Absolutely loved the rustic feel which is what camping outdoors is about. If you're looking for a 5 star accommodation, book a hotel! Small suggestion to owners, please install sanitary bins in ladies toilets and rubbish bins in the kitchen area. I noticed people were dumping food waste in the toilet bins (rolls eyes). Apart from that, awesome camping spot!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed here late Jan, 2022. Nice setting, close to the beach, but be warned - read the rest of the 1-star reviews - they’re all true. $20 a person to camp. Manager gave no care about welcoming us or showing us around. Toilets and showers were dirty, no soap or toilet paper. A bunch of guys were day drinking outside the common room at 2pm, with the manager hanging out with them. Made my wife feel too uncomfortable to use the facilities. A real dirty commune vibe. Later, they burned a full size piano on a bonfire, with loud bangs as the various components exploded - we thought they were gunshots. The fire sent sparks high into the air and into the very dry surroundings. Live, amplified music went on until late - I think the last song was around 1.30am. Website says it’s quiet after 10pm - it’s not. Apparently the fire/music/drinking is pretty much daily. Good if you’re into that, and don’t want to sleep. NOT a good place for peace and quiet, bad facilities. Be warned.
