Lovely site. Beautiful setting. Gold panning and walks to do. Toilets nice and clean with hand basins. Rubbish bins cleared daily

Old gold mining remains and artefacts plus relaxing walks in beautiful rainforest combine to make this site attractive. It is a bit out of the way which, for us is another plus. You will enjoy a quiet relaxing stay here.

A lovely DoC (Department of Conservation) campsite. The toilet facilities were pretty new so a pleasure to use especially compared to some others. Have a go at panning for gold or take a walk up the hill through the forest (but make sure you grab a map and have an hour or so). Simply grab a ticket, pay the fee in the box and enjoy a good nights sleep.

Nice camping ground in a rural area. No cell coverage, but it doesn't really matter for us. Stayed a night and spent some time walking around the area. Clean toilets.

Plenty of sites and spread out. I assume the toilets were new because they were very tidy and no smell. Did a bit of gold panning, it's a bit of fun at the campsite. I'd recommend this place, a bit out of the way but easy to get to and relaxing.

Most occupants there for the gold mining. This is a very quiet chill camp site. Dogs allowed on leash. A few caravans looked established for the holidays. But then quite a few one nighters stayed also. Bugs not that bad. DOC managed. Book online or pay cash at the info board.

Great Campsite if you are up for off-grid living for a couple of days. Walking tracks and a rive right next to the campground. Lots of mosquitos, but they don't seem to bite. Some sandflies, do bite, but not too many. Toilet facilities are great with 3 sinks - clean & well maintained. There are a few water taps scattered the campground - very handy. The best thing is there are rubbish bins so can dispose rubbish there. Many people take dogs there, but all seem to be well behaved and friendly. The campground was so busy (probably full) over the New Year period despite DOC websites showed a few bookings. Sky was so clear at night & can see pale milky-way. Overall, we had great time there and the only thing missing is the shower :)
