★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have ordered a few things from Gordon Harris recently, with lockdown meaning more time in the weekends to get creative. I have been so impressed with their service - upon online orders, I have been notified the next day that they are ready to collect. On arrival, they have been excellent in operating under level 3 health requirement and a safe pick-up process that makes me feel at ease. And, I am very happy with my purchases. Thank you to the team for working so hard in such a funky time, it doesn't go unnoticed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's one of these shops where you go in with a plan, and come out with more than you wanted because of all the amazing stuff they have. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The pricing is on the higher side and it's worth waiting for a sale if you don't urgently need it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went in and brought a posca pen, asked the man at the counter to help me make sure it was the correct colour (I showed a photo of the correct pen I needed) he confirmed it was the same as in the photo I showed him. After trusting the worker as he'd given me confirmation it was the right one, I got home and realized it was infact the wrong coloured pen. I then had to come back the next day to exchange the pen, greeted by a women who was little to no help at all. I was spoken to with attitude the whole time, I had a few questions to ask about sizing and colours and received such unwelcoming service from her. It really did not make me want to spend my money here at all, such disappointing customer service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gordon Harris in Albany was up to today my art supply shop, sadly today I have experienced how those who decided not to be vaccinated feel. I walked into the shop without a mask as I have an exemption, the shop manager asked me in front of other customers about the mask, when I said I have an exemption, I was asked to provide a proof of vaccination not of the exemption… I thought it was inappropriate and saw no reason to make such a fuss especially due to the fact that everyone else had fun their masks on. Weren’t we told that those who have been “ fully “ vaccinated are safe? I felt humiliated and wouldn’t recommend anyone to go through this experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place has a character all of it's own. The owner decorated the ceiling with posters, magazine ads, and other printed material in the 1970s, so the ceiling is a bit of a time capsule. The menu here is more limited than other restaurants on the island, this being due to the shortages of staff. That said, they have kept their fish platter meal, a two level assemblage of muscles, scallops, fish, salt and pepper squid, and other treats, making it well worth a visit. Environment was slightly two warm, as only cooling inside is ceiling fans, but then if you've come to Raro for the heat then this shouldn't be an issue. They also have garden dining, but wear some mozzie repellent if you are visiting in the wet season and wishing to dine outside. Waitress was very friendly and happy to chat, so all in all a very pleasant evening.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place has been around for decades!! So grateful it’s still here and I can treat my kids to all their amazing art tools and supplies. Lovely vibe when you enter the well organised tidy store. Staff are super kind and helpful. My daughter was very stoked to have shopped there for her first time on her birthday.
