Modern cars use an Anti Lock Braking System (ABS). This system controls each wheel under braking to avoid any one wheel from locking up or skidding. In order to control this ABS safety system the car uses an ABS Electronic Control Unit (ABS ECU) sometimes called an ABS computer. Your modern car ABS system uses a range of sensors:
- ABS Electronic Control Unit (ABS ECU) / ABS computer.
- ABS Pump Motor
- Wheel Sensors
- Actuators
- Hydraulic Brake Lines
- Brake Fluid
If any of these ABS sensor and actuators are faulty then your ABS warning light will start glowing on your dash. This means the self diagnostic functions of your car ABS computer have detected a fault and will automatically store a fault code in the ABS computer memory.

Called them up to see what was wrong and if they could fix it the same day and they did, they fixed everything within just over an hour. Cheapest car place I have ever been to aswell. Highly recommend booking your car into Grimmers Motors

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One star for the lovely female receptionist ? and overall experience. Had a premium service done on my Subaru. I should've taken photos beforehand since I do basic checks often but trusted the star ratings given for this place however my car doesn't sound as I know it to be not to mention the drive belts wording has conveniently changed from white to red and I could smell burning rubber. Makes me wonder if anything else has been tappered with. Had a tail light replaced no issues. Abit pricey overall.

Grimmer motors not only found the issue but fixed it within a day despite being short staffed due to COVID. Found out it was an issue that was created by another mechanic I’d taken my car to in order to fix my front sway bar links.
My car runs like a dream again, and for the amount they charged overall - I’m definitely coming to them for all my mechanical needs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time using this business as it is located much closer than my other. The communication was very prompt and they made efforts to procure the best deal for me as my car needed some very pricey work done to pass the warrant. I was really rapt to get my car back washed, vacuumed (a special that was on) but most of all as a bonus the annoying rattle had gone too. Very happy.

They advised me of things that would need attention on my car in the future and even sent me an email with an approximate quote so I know what it will cost so I can save up. Would definitely go here again! Thanks guys.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent service.. Had my Mazda 5, which had an issue with front suspension for the last 1.5 years - probably had 3-4 regular services done over that period but it never got rectified. After the service (premium) with Grimmer, the issue just disappeared. I had actually much higher estimate from other shops to identify & rectify the issue. Just stoked that it got resolved as part of my periodic service.
Highly appreciate and recommend their work.
