★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A hidden treasure that a lot do not know about! Take an uphill walk then to a 1000 year old kauri, a kauri grove. Eventually looping round to where you started. You can access beautiful views of the North or south if you want to.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Has a big parking area at kauri loop track on Parker Rd, the last 600-800m is gravel there is a toilet there also.
There are multiple tracks and lookouts to see with 9km walk oneway being longest.
The walkway is a covered and uphill with lots of steps. 1st you'll come to kauri loop track and a bench seat lookout. You can do the loop or carry on up the steps to the lower lookout, then carry on from there you'll come to more signs to go to upper lookout

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Trails good, with heaps of benches to rest. We hiked with our 1 year old daughter, was a little difficult in beginning. Path is well maintained and if travelling with kids i would suggest go up through kauri grove road, its longer but you will have less elevation and lots of places to rest. The top view is mindblowing.
