★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went in to buy a pair of trousers and a suit jacket for teaching in.
Parked out the front and asked if they could split my $2 for the parking meter. Was told it was the policy not to give change and that I should go to local dairy to get change....
Instead I went to McKnight & Brown, they not only didn’t hesitate to give me change for the meter they hooked me up with a pair of trousers - great value including tailering for a custom fit ?
You missed a sale due to your companies policy. Sending customers away to the local dairy is just bad business....

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfortunately no service offered. Although I did purchase i felt like I wasn't good enough to shop here. No hello, welcome or assistance anywhere. There were 4 staff at the time and not one of them asked if I was OK or needed any help. Left feeling disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love a lot of the clothes that are available, but as a moderately tall person I feel very forgotten when it comes to buying Jean's. There are no jeans that offer a long leg and come away deeply disappointed.
Why dies Hallensteins only stock for the average person. To stock Jean's that
have a little more length is surely not too much to ask

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had checked your website before heading into store,within seconds of entering fantastic customer service,noticed me and straight to help.I wanted a suit combo and a two button jacket.Wonderful man got my sizes right on first go,allowed me to mix pants n jacket due to my button preference.Also was looking for certain shirts and he knew exactly what I wanted and took me straight to them after I choose my suit combo.Fantastic service,good quality.Will be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Popped into Hallensteins today with my partner and it was the most awful expereince I have ever had, staff was very unhelpful. Would give 0 stars if that was an option. Customer service was terrible as there was no one serving any customers at the store. No staff at the changing rooms, despite there were 3 staff members present. 2 staff members were aimlessly looking around and 1 was mending the cashier. When I went up to the cashier to enquire about the sizing of a product, I was completely shut down. One of the more senior staff spoke to me as if I didn't understood english and decided to turn around to gossip about me to another staff member in front of my face. I felt discrimnated becuase of my race/skin colour. Would not recommend the Invercargill branch. Very disappointing expereince.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A vast improvement both in service and general shop layout.Of late, shop appeared to be cramped with stock set out as if a "bazaar" with loud "pulsating" music and "over enthusiastic" sales staff. Today the assistant was "calm" and attentive and most helpful with no great pressure. Keep it up HB - you are back in favour with this customer!
