Handy Rentals have 6 locations across New Zealand. We currently only offer this service across the Greater Wellington Region including Hutt Valley & Porirua.
We only offer this service from Monday through to Friday. Weekends are the busiest days for renting our trucks so we cannot supply labour on these days.
We take credit card details to secure the booking but do not charge you until the day of pick up. Full charges will apply if you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice.
We recommend booking as soon as you know your moving date – always book in advance to secure your preferred date, time and truck size. Keep in mind that Fridays and Saturdays are our busiest days.
We have several different sizes of vehicles to choose from. Simply refer to our vehicles page to determine what size you need.

We can provide you with both the ideal vehicle and people to make your move EASY.
Yes, we can offer specialist packaging to make your move easier. We can provide the staff and all packaging materials, so you don’t have to worry about doing it yourself. Please be aware that this can be very time consuming and will be charged at an hourly rate. Please call us directly on 0800 47 48 49 if this is something you wish to discuss further.
We have all the specialist equipment required to ensure the job can be completed in the safest possible way. We can move most things but there will be extra fees for any pianos or any excessively heavy items. Please let us know if you have any extra heavy items.
If you want to do all the packing, loading and unloading yourself we can simply drop the vehicle to your home at an agreed time for you to load. We can then come back when fully loaded and drive the truck to your new home for you to unload. When you have finished unloading, we can come and collect the truck from you.
