★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The vehicles were awesome and the man taking the booking was amazing.
The lady who is running the depot is rude and very condescending. She is a let down to the company, obviously the boss or she would not be employed there anymore.
We dropped vehicles off at airport and then Hansen emailed a week later to say they were not full of enough gas, which we beg to differ, as gas was gushing out of the tank when we filled it at the airport before flight. We showed them all the receipts of us filling the vehicles and the time we did them, even if we were incorrect, the lady was so rude and didnt want a bar of it. She had no interest in coming to a peaceful conclusion and put all blame on us.
The issue is Hansen then drove the vehicles from the airport another 27kms to a gas station and THEN filled the tanks up and gave us the bill for those 27kms gas plus a service fee bill. When there are 2 gas stations at the airport.
Next time take a picture of your gas tank before you leave. Or make them check it before your flight, otherwise there is no proof and the company always wins.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Booked a truck online a week in advance for a move on a Sunday. I was never contacted by Hanson’s, but on the Friday I was suddenly accosted with calls and emails rudely telling me that I hadn’t filled in the paperwork and that I would lose the truck if I didn’t fill it out by the end of the day (despite them having already taken money out of my account). The middle-aged woman was very difficult to deal with upon arrival and was very fond of shifting the blame onto the customer, despite me never being told I had to fill this information out in advance. She informed me that I had been emailed, but I most certainly hasn’t; I check all my inboxes (incl junk) several times a day. Very stressful and horrifically rude.
The biggest issue I had came after I returned the truck. Rather than take the kms out of the bond they took the kms out on a seperate transaction on my card (without authorisation) and refunded the bond separately. The bond, however, took more than 60 hours to clear. My main issue is how this was handled and how Cheryl treated me. At no point was she apologetic and instead shifted the blame onto the bank immediately and was very hostile. All I wanted was to double-check the account details that it was paid into (she had written down the card info so I thought there may have been an error on input) but she never provided this and dismissively told me that the last 4 digits were viewable on the receipt. There was a huge lack of empathy and understanding and a complete lack of customer service. The middle—aged lady that works there needs to learn how to take ownership of mistakes and stop trying to blame other people for the errors of the company.
On the other hand I dealt with a very nice man here previously and also when I called.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was told the van was serviced prior to picking it up. However, had to put oil in, had no wiper fluid to clean window. Canopy on the back only had one lock so couldn't securely lock it. Interior had a ripped seat on the front and very worn in the back seat. The stereo was so old wouldn't even do Bluetooth. Would not hirefrom them again

I guess they will figure it out Ms Traquair and the young mathematician ( not his forte ) , what an amazing team the service was well above expectations absolutely friendly and chatty keep up your high customer service it makes an awesome day, I totally recommend them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Easy and fast booking over the phone. Lovely people to deal with, lovely vehicle to drive. My fight wasn’t coming in until after 7pm that day and I was worried about after hours pick up in their Dunedin city location as the airport pick up location was fully booked - Daniel called me just before their closing time to again confirm and discuss at length regarding pick up instructions and made sure I was gonna be okay and not left stranded without a car. Thank-you for the awesome service! Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thanks for the rental, everything was perfect and super easy, thanks so much. Oh and all the little things also like suggesting the less clean of the two people movers because we had kids was the icing on the cake, that to me means heaps less stress which makes for a better time away ?

The whole process was completed without any problems and with a great price, much cheaper than other firms by far. All done with a broad smile and good banter. Would highly recommend this place for your next rental. Will be using them again.
