About Hardings Furniture

Hi there! We are Paul and Ann Harding, we are the proud owners of Hardings Handcrafted Furniture in Petone, Wellington.

Hardings was establised in 1947 by my father Leslie selling second hand furniture. I came to work with my dad when I was 15 years old and have never left. My wife Ann and I now run our family busniess from the same location we were in all those years ago.

We take great pride in providing outstanding quality furniture at unbeatable prices. We stock a huge range of unique mahogany furniture that is made in the jungles of South East Asia with  no modern machinery.

We have a great variety of products, from very unusual hand made pieces to the more everyday chests of drawers, bookcases, coffee tables, dining tables and chairs etc..

The place is located on Jackson street Petone. They import furnitures I think from Cambodia and they are cheaper than big places like Harvey Norman and others. These furnitures are made by the hands of people in the villages. I bought a dining table with 6 chairs and a tallboy drawers and a canvas. I love this place.

During lockdown i enquired about Datsun barstools and was quoted $169 each via email. Having to travel some dustance i rang the shop after lockdown to say i would be travelljng down the next day and could they put aside 4 stools for me, also could i pay online the day before. I was told it was easier to pay when i got there. On arriving at store the price of each stool had been increased to $179 each. I explained i had been quoted $169 each in an email only to be told that the price of transport had gone up 3 thousand dollars. These stools wete in shop before lockdown!!! Not very ethical practice. Then told oh well they are still cheaper than other places. I stick to my word about prices??????? HARDINGS FURNISHINGS DONT

Good value for money furniture. We felt the lady looking after the shop wasnt really interested in customers, even when we spent over $1000.
