About Healy Hypnotherapy
I'm Christine Healy - I have a Diploma in Professional Counselling, Diploma in Clinical Advanced Hypnosis and am a certified NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Practitioner. I am a professional member of Hypnosis New Zealand (the country's largest Hynpnotherapy training and support group).
I have been interested in psychology, before I even knew what it was - what makes people how they are and why do they act the way they do. When I first went to university for a Marketing degree (because I didn't know myself or what else to do!), I took one psychology paper in my final year. I found it so fascinating - it was my only A. However there was so much more for me to go through before I could know that it is my true calling.
My formal journey began while living in Sydney about 15 years ago, when I decided to study part-time for my Certificate in Holistic Counselling. Little did I realise the intense personal work this would involve! It was very confronting but necessary. To understand what it was like to be a client, therapy was required and I was drawn to those who offered different approaches - even then I realised that talking, although essential, can only go so far. My first experiences of hypnosis were very powerful; I still vividly remember them, and this was the beginning of my discovery of a profound new way of healing and changing.
After moving back to NZ, I completed my Counselling Diploma though also became immersed in various day jobs. A recurring theme was that people often confided in me, so I would end up informally counselling them anyway! My natural inclination was to help where I could and as time went on, the pull to do more meaningful work became stronger. I felt I needed to be able to provide something more to clients, and began studying Clinical Hypnotherapy (this is the application of hypnosis for therapeutic purposes). In my view, counselling and hypnotherapy go perfectly together - all the answers are inside each individual, and the aim is to show them how they can find their own solutions. I recall a teacher saying 'you are no better than your clients...they are just like you on a different day' and this still resonates with me. We are all works in progress and although it may be at difterent levels, we (hopefully!) keep evolving throughout our whole lives. I can think of nothing more important to do than connect with and empower others to move forward, so they can become the best and most authentic versions of themselves.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve had a few sessions with Christine and each time I’ve taken away new skills. The benefits for me have been getting myself mentally prepared for lifestyle changes I wanted to put in place. I’ve found in the past that I would try and launch big changes without the right mindset. Christine’s sessions have given me tools to support my day-to-day habits which need to be in place for sustainable change.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had my first experience of hypnotherapy with Christine. I'd recommend you give it a try. Christine explained what I should expect, we talked about what I wanted to achieve, and then we began. After the hypnotherapy I couldn't believe how long I'd been under hypnosis. Time seemed to go very quickly. Give it a go! Christine's great.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Christine provides a very professional and calming experience I would highly recommend her. She puts you at ease and explains everything clearly so it is very comfortable. I learnt a lot from her about relaxing the mind to help manage stress and refocus. I felt energised and better equipped to face any challenges I had.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Christine's highly professional and practical skills in hypnotherapy enabled me to stop biting my fingernails. This was a habit of more than 40 years and after just one session with Christine I have been able to stop biting my nails utilising the techniques she gave me. I highly recommend her!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a Hypnotherapy session with Christine recently. I have benefited greatly from this experience in terms of health, mindset and most importantly family life. I found Christine very professional - I felt comfortable throughout the session even though I was clearly out of my comfort zone.
I would highly recommend.
