About Hike & Bike Coromandel
We not only have bikes but bike transport available to help you explore the Northern Coromandel and the Coastal Walkway. With bike options available from the small village of Colville (an easy 30 minute drive, on tarseal, north of Coromandel Town) we travel via backcountry roads to Stony Bay to start the Walkway by 10.30am. The Walkway is ten kilometres mostly over a well formed surface passing through regenerating bush and coastal farmland. It can be hiked or biked but does require a degree of skill and fitness if biked.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our two families of nine (ranging from 12-47 years old) had an absolutely amazing bike ride. The owners dropped us off at the top of the Coromandel ranges and we biked for 7km in the bush and forestry, then came out on a farm near Colville. The views from the top of the ranges are spectacular over the Hauraki Gulf, islands and bays. You can't see that view from anywhere else. We then biked to Colville for a burger (good burger too), stopped for a swim in Waimete Beach and biked the coastal road back to Coromandel town, completing a 50km trip.
It was a trip that we will remember for a very long time - for it's challenge, entertainment and spectacular scenery. Hike & Bike Coromandel were excellent and the bikes were perfect for the job. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a family day adventure to do this!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome experience! We hired 2 bikes with 1 child seat and traveled about 2.5h. The e bikes are convinient and allow even these who aren't in shape to enjoy the ride and trully experince the spectacular views of Coromondel town and its surroundings.
The owners explained everything in detail, gave us a map with highlights of lookouts and routes and were nice and welcoming.
Totally worth the money, highly recommend it!

We called Hike and Bike to see if they could help us see the northern peninsula in a fun way. Wow! They do such an awesome job. Gavin and Lynette are down-to-earth locals who care about their region and their customers. They allow you to see their back yard in an intimate way ... they bring to life this special part of New Zealand in such an authentic manner. You’ll see it in a way you couldn’t otherwise. Totally recommend you call H&B when you’re visiting Coromandel.

Without Gavin we wouldn't of be able to do this adventure. As there were only the two of us. The weather was abit dodgy so with Gavin's experience he decided which was the best way to tackle the weather which made the experience even better.
