★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cozy, tidy and organized. The host Couple Rob and Lynn are super kind;) I was welcomed by a small bunch of lavender and chocolates in the bed~They even offer free milk/toast/tea/coffee/apple/ice-cream and etc!Would definitely go again if I am in Nelson! (P.S. Short walking distance to the Sunday Market.)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Homely, clean and conveniently located close to town. Rob was also extremely helpful, warm and welcoming. Unlimited ice cream!!!! (you can't complain about that), basic breakfast supplies provided and whilst we were there Rob even made us scones :) Nice outside garden with tables and chairs to relax in. Also can wash your clothes for $4 per load. If you are walking the Te Araroa trail like us, Honeysuckle House is only a 5 hour walk from Rocks Hut along the Dunn Mountain Trail (well sign posted). Very convenient for restocking supplies for the next leg of the TA instead of the recommended Hackett Picnic area (SoBo) where you have to find a lift into Nelson or catch the bus for $20/person.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed at the Honeysuckle House for the second time - a very nice place indeed. Well equipped kitchen, clean facilities, a lovely garden and unvariedly kind hosts made us feel very comfortable. Plus there is free ice-cream!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The honeysuckle house is an awsome place to stay! It's a really nice small hostel with only 10 beds. So it's easy to get to know the Other guests and the owner is very friendly and welcoming. Everything is clean and you find everything you need in the kitchen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Honey Suckle House is a very nice place to stay in Nelson. The hosts are nice and welcoming, you'll find lavender and a chocolate on your bed when you arrive. I haven't seen such a lovely thing in any other hostel. It's very quiet with a garden to relax and a few minutes walking to the city center.
The hosts are helpful, as they proposed to pick me up when I arrived in Nelson and Rob even dropped me to the best place to hitchhike when I left.
I'll totally recommend this place !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My best friend and I stayed here back in 2011, and it was the best hostel experience we found in NZ! Both Rob and his wife were so kind, and the location truly seemed like a home away from home. The place stuck with me after so many years. It's so good to see it's still open!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've stayed 7 weeks in this cute little hostel and couldn't have made a better choice! Rob is a lovely host, who always takes care of his guests, the kitchen is fully equipped and don't forget the ice cream & the cookies ? It's centrally located and got a absolutely beautiful garden, which invites you to enjoy your morning coffee or a beer & a chat in the afternoon!
