About Hydropaws
Hi i'm Rachel Dellar, owner and manager of
Hydropaws. Destined to work with animals from
an early age my love of horses led me to study equine
and animal sciences. Both my degree and masters theses
were based on the physiological basis of racehorse performance.
After a few years as a university lecturer my passion for
physical rehabilitation developed and whilst training racehorses over the next few years I studied
massage, myofascial release and hydrotherapy for horses.
In 2002, I moved out to New Zealand and my love of dogs took over!
I have now been working in the field of Canine Hydroptherapy and Rehabilitation for over 15years and am currently an Advanced Canine Hydrotherapist. In 2017 we launched NZACH - New Zealand Association of Canine Hydrotherapists of which i am currently the Chairperson.
Most of my spare time is spent enjoying the journey of breeding, training, working and judging spaniels under the Wyebrook Kennel name.
Hydropaws offers a holistic approach to canine care integrating land and water based rehabilitation therapies to promote good health and mobility, performance and recovery from injury and surgery allowing dogs to live life to the full. Please do get in touch to see how we can help your dog.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My Westie ruptured her cruciate last year and we opted for hydro therapy over surgery. She has now done the other leg and have no hesitation in returning to Rachel again. The vet commented on how strong her other joint was and was surprised that it had not been operated on.

Rachel is incredible at what she does and is helping my wee West Highland x Poodle with his traumatic luxating patella that he sustained during a dog attack. Rachel is very knowledgeable, supportive, encouraging and fantastic at what she does! We have seen improvements in my pup on his second visit and every visit since then. I am so pleased I gave hydrotherapy a go with my 7 year old boy, as he loves it and it is improving his life quality since the attack. 100% recommend giving Rachel at HydroPaws a go. I did not think my dog would like/engage in hydrotherapy, however I was totally wrong! He is beyond excited for each visit with Rachel. Definitely do it, for you pups! They'll love you for it. Thank you for helping to rehabilitate my dog and delay his inevitable surgery by helping him to strengthen his legs and body.
