β β β β β Disappointed that we were greeted with 'Have you booked?' Especially when the place was not booked out & there were only 2 of us. Google had said currently not busy. Pleasant cafe & waiting staff otherwise. Lovely grounds & sea views.

β β β β β Helpful, friendly staff, appreciated the offer of bean bags when we said we wanted to sit on the grass with our coffee.
Good food selection, cabinet and menu.
Live music outside, beautiful view, AND dog friendly.

β β β β β Hygge is a lovely cafe, out of the way but well worth the drive. stunning views of the water, delicious coffee, and the menu has a selection of Vege options. Great place for kids, and the furry friends. equipped with dog bowls and treats they cater to customers on two legs and four!

β β β β β Great food. We biked out from Haumoana. Great flat scenic ride and fantastic cafe at end for refreshments before biking back. Definitely will come back as the cafe is in a magical setting beside the sea. Staff were great, food tasty and big garden to spread out in during these COVID times.

β β β β β Very conscientious about the covid checking, but forgot our food order and we're spraying chemicals on the tables all around us! Then tried to charge us for the food we didn't receive! Hadn't been for 18 months since the last bad experience of poor service, so won't hurry back. Such a shame as a prime spot.

β β β β β Unbeatable on a warm day, outside under the trees, looking across the lawn to the sea. Small but comprehensive menu, local produce where possible. Dogs welcome outside too! One thing to improve....more comfy chairs ?

β β β β β Great lunch experience. Pricey but worth it.
Very good food: crispy beer-batter fish & chips, grilled halloumi as good as Zany Zeus, melting pork belly, and tasty toasted panini options at counter.
Regretted not ordering the caesar salad.
Only quibble was that the batter overpowered the fish flavour.
Friendly and helpful staff. The first time at any cafe where a staff member has made sure that we understood the Covid requirements e.g. must wear mask when away from our table!
Rustic wooden decor with sea views fits our style.

β β β β β We were there for brunch. The food and coffees were as good as any other cafe, nothing particularly different either in their appearances or tastes.
We received a very warm and welcoming greetings at our arrival but I guess that was the end of their customer care. Was our first visit and potentially the last though the venue itself, specially the outdoor, was very gorgeous.
Was slightly windy outside, so the person who was collecting our dishes had difficulty catching serviettes. I chased them for her three times but she failed to say thanks or even to somehow acknowledge the help.
Waiting in the queue to pay for the table, one of their staff passed by, hitting my shoulder on his way. He didnβt apologize and simply ignored me.
