★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow. What a hotel. From the greetings from all the staff upon arrival to the cheerful goodbyes.
The team here seem to genuinely enjoy their work, they were all friendly and welcoming.
We felt so comfortable and impressed by the service.
The bed was devine and the pillow was so comfortable we asked if we could purchase some.
Breakfast was delicious with again, outstanding customer service.
The only downside was we didn't book in for longer.
Will definitely be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ At short notice we decided to fly across the Strait to do some Christmas shopping in Wellington. We decided to stay at The InterContinental (we had stayed before) because we knew we were going to be assured accommodation of great quality and above all convenience. As our last stay, we were not disappointed; just what you would expect from a hotel of this standard. We requested and were helpfully given an early check-in prior to our arrival. Helpful and welcoming staff - especially as this was day 1 of the Covid passport, our arrival was friendly and professionally handled. The room was very comfortable and well appointed, big screen, Nespresso, and lots of power outlets for modern devices. We found the king bed just a little 'marshmallowy' for our liking, but comfortable all the same. The only disappointments were no mini-bar, and incessant drilling due to ongoing seismic structural strengthening - an irritation but vital work nonetheless. The adage 'you get what you pay for' is true especially with top quality hotels, the InterContinental represents great value for he discerning traveler. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hotel is looking quite old in places. the room was nicely presented. The bathrooms in the rooms are really clean and look more recent but carpet in our room just looks old and dirty. We went to the pool and that also looked old and run down, the spa pool had paint flaking off and looked dirty around the sides of the pool. The seat is breaking in the sauna too in desperate need of a refurbishment. The gym looks brand new though and has a good range of equipment. The breakfast is delicious but that is all the restaurant offers, no lunch or dinner. You have to use the little cafe that’s attached to the side of the hotel to eat lunch or dinner. The bar was really nice and had yummy cocktails and a huge selection of top shelf. There was also no hotel guide in the room that explained what our eating options were or about what the hotel offered in terms of pool and gym etc. and the TV guide didn’t work. Overall for the price we paid for the room I would try somewhere else a little more newer until they have completed some renovations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a Wellington Staycation with my Mum and Daughter last week and we had an awesome time. The service from the moment we arrived was flawless. Nothing was an issue..We decided we wanted a room upgrade (we wanted to make most of the harbor views and it was so worth it) and this was handled with ease. Our room was beautiful and the breakfast the next day was lovely. Super relaxing and lovely stay. We will def be back again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Be aware they charge a fortune for a glass of wine $28. Don't remember it being that amount on the wine list so maybe mentally add what your bill is and checking thoroughly before signing your receipt. Also if you don't intend tipping then put a zero next to 'tip' as our lovely waiter added his tip AFTER we had signed. We complained and basically got snubbed. Also the sensor lighting etc in the rooms is difficult to use. Feel sorry for any elderly people who are not technical. Asked for view room and firstly given wrong room and had to return to reception only to be given a view room above droning noise from kitchen fans.
Have stayed in many hotels in Wellington and never complained. Always had best service.
This place is over priced, over done with under trained staff and questionable waiters. Good luck.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm giving 5 stars to Intercontinental as it exceeded our expectation. The room we were assigned to was clean and feels homey. Our 8 months old baby enjoyed her shower in the bathroom and all of us were well rested from the trip because the bed is just so inviting and relaxing to sleep with. The staffs from the moment we entered the hotel were so accomodating and attentive to our needs. The breakfast menu is a bomb! We loved everything and I feel like I just went home back to my country because I tasted a pastry that has the same taste with the food I'm missing so much! So thank you intercontinental❤ We will definitely come back again for a longer stay. Highly recommended.

Thank you for upgrading our room as well. We didn't expect it. Adding some proofs of my happy baby during her stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a such a nice stay at your hotel. Staying with my wife and two children. Given prior bookings, the hotel wasn't able to provide us with our preferred room layouts (adjoining with a king in one and doubles in the other). Most hotels would have told us on arrival, but I got a call from the bookings manager a couple of days before advising and giving me other options. We ended up with 2 lovely rooms that we were thrilled with and also a very thoughtful note from the hotel manager and a special delivery of goodies from the kitchen!! Thanks so much for a perfect stay in Wellington. Your service and approach was impeccable. We will definitely come back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our stay was fabulous! The staff were lovely, attentive enough without being overbearing. The room spacious, well fit out with everything we needed. The bed and pillows are exceptional!
Location is ideal - quick strolls to shopping, restaurants, the waterfront.
I'll definitely be back.
