Jessica Higueras, Photographer
Jessica was born in Lima, Peru. Before discovering the world of photography, you could tell Jessica had a special sensitivity for being creative, that kind of creativity that raised eyebrows more than one time.
After living in Guatemala and Mexico for a couple of years, she crossed the world to settle in New Zealand. In 2001 while living in Wellington, she studied Photography at The Photo School, graduating with honours and awarded for the best portfolio.
Jessica’s passion and dedication for photography is opening her doors very quickly. She specializes in Portrait, Fashion and Wedding photography. She has won several awards since she started her business, including multiple Kodak Gold Awards and NZIPP Iris Awards.
Capturing the best of people’s expressions in a natural way and with a fashion forward influence are very important features of Jessica’s style. Her Peruvian roots are constantly present to add that touch of fun when directing and colour when retouching that have made her artistic photos win several awards. Her patience and commitment to get the best picture, can only be driven by a real passion for her career.
Jessica now lives in Auckland and is the mother of two lovely kids: Vasco and Vera.

I was very pleased with all of our photos and I can't stop looking at them! On the day of the wedding Jessica and her assistants were very friendly and made Desmond and I very relaxed.I would highly recommend her services to any future bride.

We’re from the US and were on vacation in New Zealand. We recently got engaged, so we used the opportunity to see new places and have an engagement shoot at the same time. (I highly recommend doing a photo shoot next time you’re traveling!) Jessica talked to us about what we were looking for, and put together a full morning session that took us to some absolutely beautiful locations. She planned it just right, and we never would have had those experiences without her.
The photos she took were gorgeous: not only did they capture the right qualities of the shoot locations, but she was excellent at helping direct my fiancee and me. We’ve already used the photos for save-the-date cards and our website. We will frame a few.
On top of that, Jessica was fun to spend time with, and great to talk to. Go with her.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To have a Wedding in the midst of a storm is good luck they say, but having a photographer who creates amazing photos in the middle of rain, wind and sandstorms is even better.
I absolutely love my photos. During the photo shoot when my hair was blowing in the wind and my husband had to shelter me from the elements I admit I did have doubts. However Jessica literally gave me the shirt off her back to get the poses we discussed.
Jessica has such a talent in capturing the natural fun and excitement of the day. Her energy and passion comes through right into the photos.
I'm lucky to have found such a great photographer. We have now had Engagement and Wedding photos with her and look forward to having her photograph the many more special moments in our lives.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Jessica is an awesome photographer. We wanted to have a couple of great family photo's and Jess delivered! We spoke about the setting, the styling and she had great tips for us. On the day of the shoot itself, she made sure she created different settings. Best of all, the photo's don't look staged - the kids are beautifully shot whilst playing, the way we (as parents) see them through our eyes. The photo's of the four of us are simply stunning! Would really recommend doing family photo's with Jessica!

We found Jess on Instagram and made contact with her.
From the first contact Jess put us at ease and we knew instantly we had made the right choice. Due to it being such a small ceremony we didn’t need Jess for the full day we just needed her for a few hours and she was more than happy to accommodate this for us.
When she arrived on the day she instantly put us both at ease and she became an integral part of our day. She was amazing from start to finish.
She took all of what we wanted on board and created the most beautiful pictures.
We could not have asked for a better photographer and could not be happier with the gorgeous photos that Jess has created for us.
