★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We basically live here in winter at Bethany Park which is behind the inlet. We love this beach. It is by far and away the most beautiful beach in NZ. Only surpassed by other beaches along The Abel Tasman coast which starts here anyway. It gets busy in peak season but in winter it is very quiet and shoulder season is great too. Much less wind in winter.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An idyllic and beautiful beach with golden sand and safe swimming. Walk handy to excellent advantage points to view the bays for photos and listening to the bird song. Pllenty of eating options that cope well with busy numbers of people. Parking is only downside as hard to get being so popular. Lovely place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gorgeous sand beach! Perfect for swimming and water-based activities. Wasn't too busy considering it was summer holidays and on a weekend. The sand itself is lovely and once dried it just brushes and shakes off! Great ocean for families with kids also as the water is quite shallow for a good distance particularly when lower tide.
Great cafes and shops nearby also.
