★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing beach and lagoon, one of the most beautiful beaches in NZ. Need to swim when lifeguards on though to keep safe. Quiet a steep shelf at edge of water with big rolling type waves close to shore. Worth a visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely stunning beach walks on both ends that lead to magical places. Surrounded by a small community that swells to just over 1000 in the summer months, a small dairy that also serves takeaways throughout the day and evening with a beautiful range of food with unique kiwi names that just show how down to earth this small community is. I have been visiting this place for the best part of 15 years and it never gets old.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place, very small town. Great place to take the family for the day. The whiritoa lagoon is a popular spot for the kids. There is only one shop in the town that makes great fish and Chips.
