★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was a totally great random find down at the viaduct. The food was so fresh and beautifully presented and the staff were so hospitable. It felt like the chef (and his wife maybe) genuinely loves food, and It wasn’t just another sushi restaurant, even though that’s what our 6 year old wanted (and got and loved). It just seemed authentic.

Love the dish of grilled eel over rice there, That was the one of the best one I ever had in Auckland.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The worst prawn bento in Auckland. I question the high review score for this restaurant. Prawn is not fresh, deep fried to brown colour. You may need wearing glasses to see the prawn meat. Yes, I call this prawn meat, because I just can’t find whole body from heap of flour around. It is yucky.
For the cocktail I ordered, I suggest you chance to mocktail. Please change the price as well. I cannot taste any alcohol at all, instead of lots of syrup.
It is not pleasant lunch, I won’t go there again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In my opinion this is one of the best Japanese places in town - a bit of a hidden gem with a fairly unassuming exterior. Very friendly owners & staff, good food selection, and very authentic taste. The tuna tataki salad is my all time favourite here.
Great drinks too. Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I think this is one of the best Japanese restaurant in Auckland. As someone who has been to Japan, this place gives me flashback to my memory of Kyoto.
The ingredients are very fresh, which to me is the key to good Japanese food. We were pleasantly surprised by the little details and touches in the dishes. The portion size is very generous, which is actually kind of rare in Japanese fine dining.
Good selection of cocktails and some hard to find sakes, if that's what floats your boat.
Needless to say the location and the view is amazing. My friend and I had a great night there. Highly recommend.
