Its a good riverside walk with a lot to look around, we went there after a hot day around 5PM, the only problem were small mosquitoes near the grass. So its wise to go there fully covered.

Fantastic location for a day walk or a bit of light camping. Park the car in the carpark and enjoy a brisk 40 minute walk to the camping ground. On sites toilet facilities available. Massive fire pit for roasting some spuds, boiling water from the river or just warming yourself on a chilly night. We have camped here several times. Gets a fair bit of foot traffic. Beautiful place, highly recommend.

Love this place so so much! Only about 25 mins out of Hamilton. Perfect River to cool down in, there's a rope swing and the perfect cliff to jump off to do bombs. There's rapids and little pools downstream which is awesome for the little ones. It gets quite busy but plenty of spots to park your car. I'll definitely be going back!

Beautiful place for those that love to be surrounded by nature, easy mostly flat terrain, we were able to take the Stroller up to the campsite which was a 45min walk. There are swimming & picnic spots at the main carpark area which also has a toilet (long drop) .. The cave is a must do kids loved it.

A fantastic walk through native bush, streams down to the Kaniwhaniwha caves...definitely need a head torch for this experience. 7km loop unless you want to add another 1.2hr hike to see the biggest Kauri tree. Great swimming spot too. A must do!
