β β β β β Amazing stay. Kev put on a great bonfire for new years! It was a great night. Nice quiet campsite close to town, with a stunning view. Blade the dog is also the biggest sweetheart.

β β β β β If you're looking for places to stay in Raglan then consider this humble country rustic off the grid chalet. Completely off the grid, totally country rustic ambience, private location. solar powered and the views are to die for. In the chalets the Gas cookers, pots, pans and dish-ware were all supplied, as well as linen and duvets. Everything was prepared for our arrival, all we did was bring the food and the wine. The tables are giant rustic wood tables that makes an excellent counter for cooking our feast on (which was a prawn & garlic dish and eye fillet steak)
The chalets over look the raglan town and harbour, and nearly everywhere you go on the property there is a stunning view to go along with it. Lighting is all solar powered. The toilets are long drops, the showers are gas heated and the outside baths are also gas heated. Basins are outside and even though we went in the winter time it was such a stunner of a place that we cant wait to experience it in the summer time. And for the measly $60.00 we paid for the both of us it was worth every cent.
If you're looking for a rustic outdoorsy type place and don't want the modern convenience then this is the place to run away to and escape for a night or weekend. Literally 5mins outside of the raglan township for the price of the place and the company of the host you will not be disappointed. If you're looking however for a luxury resort then this is not it. But if you're looking to get back into nature but love sleeping indoors and like having normal showers and baths (albeit with a country twist) then this is for you.

β β β β β Awesome place on a lookout over Raglan, reasonable price and super kind owner. We came back as we haven't found a better place to stay in and around Raglan. Cold showers, but at least for free. You can recharge your devices here which is an added bonus.

β β β β β An incredible campsite overlooking the beach township of Raglan. Spacious grassy areas to pitch your tent; a sheltered area to charge any electronic devices. Fresh drinking water sourced straight from a Spring. Kev himself is a good natured soul, canβt wait to go back :)

β β β β β Lovely place to stay and the views to die for. Kev was really friendly and loved his dogs. Toilets/showers no lights so had to leave door open a bit to see.
The driveway is a challenge to say the least. If towing long vehicles I'd double check to see if you can get round the sharp corner if your vehicle doesn't have a good turn lock on it. Also keep speed up to get up the concrete part of drive then be careful at top as corner is narrow.
Would go back but will take tent instead of caravan.

β β β β β Kev's Place is a great find. Just barely out of town with beautiful views of the river valley and ocean! Kev himself is friendly and up for a chat. The facilities (hot showers and toilets) are clean and well built and the steep road up the hill is freshly concreted.
We met a long term resident, Daniel, who was extremely helpful answering our questions and making sure we had everything we needed. The dog is a sweet one and adds a homey feel to the camp. We stayed in our tent(we are cheap) so can't comment on the little cabins around the place, but they have great character from the outside.
Good time, good price, good people and more fun than the first camp site we found in the area.
Enjoy!
