★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service was brilliant very friendly and inviting, I only came in for a pack of sushi for my daughter which they made fresh she loved it.
All the food in their loomed awesome and a few people left pretty happy will definitely go back for more food and that great service thank you Koji!.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Authentic tasty Japanese food. We called ahead and reserved a table. They were quite busy, but the food came out promptly. Lots of variety on the menu, from Donburi, Udons, Bentos and Sashimi. Takeaway available as well. Highly recommended when in Invercargill

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came here initially to get takeaways and the staff member was very intense about vaccine passes (most restaurants don't require them just for takeaways). She wasn't even going to give me the opportunity to look at a menu before she had sited it. They also don't have masks available on site but won't serve you without one, so if you've forgotten then you're out of luck.
My husband ended up finding a parking spot nearby so we decided to dine in. The lunch menu is reasonably priced, tasty and filling. The service was quick too. Probably wouldn't come here again due to the attitude of the main staff member but it might be a different experience with someone else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ate here last night for my husband's birthday, and it was a great choice! Plus they were kind enough to take us without reservations.
He had the yakiudon with chicken, which he describes as "really good!" Thanks to a big late lunch, he wasn't hungry when we arrived, but got hungry as soon as he tried the noodles and loved them enough to eat the whole thing.
I (being always hungry regardless of having eaten recently) had the sushi & curry udon set. It was delicious! The curry udon was richly flavorful, not too salty, and indulgent without being heavy. The sushi and nigiri on the side were delightful too.
We'll definitely be back next time we're in Invercargill and looking for Japanese food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have eaten Japanese in a few countries, including Japan. Koji is probably in the top ten Japanese restaurants in New Zealand. Restaurant was super busy but food came pretty fast. Staff were really professional. Food was amazing.
