★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited Hokianga and the Kokohuia Lodge in February for our honeymoon, and couldn't have been more pleased by our experience. Steve and Suzanne are wonderful hosts that took great care of us, from cooking nice meals, telling us more about the region and showing us great trails for hiking..
The lodge itself is very comfortable in a quiet area with an oustanding view of the harbour and the ocean. There is dedicated parking, and you are short (5 mins) ride away from a couple of restaurants (Steve and Suzanne can cook a nice meal too..).
We also loved the boatshed cafe (30 mins from the lodge) for a nice meal/coffee. This seems to be one of the nice hangout in the area.
I strongly recommend it..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a wonderful 2 nights here. Includes great hearty breakfast with excellent choices. Very friendly helpful hosts on the phone if you need them. Stunning views of the sand dunes and Harbour heads. Great spaces in the lodge to relax both in and out. Highly recommend a stay here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a fantastic stay here back in March. The lodge is gorgeous with incredible views and the most relaxing and tranquil atmosphere. Steve and Suzanne are great hosts with many good suggestions for things to do in the area. Suzanne even went out of her way to pick us up after we were stranded with a flat tyre on the side of a rural road over 30 minutes drive away. Not only that but she also drove us to Kaikohe the following day to pick up our car! Couldn't have been more grateful, the service definitely exceeded our expectations!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 4.5stars!! An awesome place with a view to die for. The only reason I didn’t give it 5stars is I would have liked. a bottle of champagne in the room on arrival but other than that I highly recommend it as a romantic get away and a place to just chill. Lots to do in and around the area with plenty of forest walks in close proximity.
