★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place to get away from everything. Freedom camping and hardly anyone around makes for awesome swims in the lake for bathing (although pretty cold). If you come here, TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely an amazing place to stay at the lake. A place we would definitely recommend an come back to stay. Absolutely need to be self contained an take all rubbish with you. Treat the beautiful lake with respect.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The lake Hawea is really beautiful and the road along the lake is giving you multiple opportunities to stop and admire the landscapes.
I would recommend to drive along the lake during the last day lights!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an amazing public park where you can get low and access the lake. There large shore allow car to drive down and park. It is a good spot for picnic especially with the campervan. The view of the lake with mountain as background is just stunning. During our visit, the large area of shore just covered by the yellow Lupine which is another surprise and great view.
