About Learning Tree Childcare Apollo Drive
Curriculum
We are committed to follow the aspirations of the New Zealand National ECE Curiculum, Te Whāriki,
“For children to grow up as competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society”.
Te Whāriki envisages kaiako in early learning settings working in partnership with parents, whānau and community to realise this vision. The expectation is that, in their early years, children will experience a curriculum that empowers them as lifelong learners.
Te Whāriki supports this work by providing a framework of principles and strands. The principles are the foundations of curriculum decision making and a guide for every aspect of pedagogy and practice. The strands are 5 areas of learning and development, where the focus is on supporting children to develop the capabilities they need as confident and competent learners. Each setting takes these principles and strands and, in partnership with parents and whānau, uses them to ‘weave’ a curriculum whāriki that is specifically designed for their children.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Both of my girls went to Learning Tree Apollo. It was such a very nurturing environment with caring staff. We loved the cultural celebrations and activities like Dewali, Chinese New Year and of course Matariki.
Our girls were able participate is a variety of activities like arts and crafts, water play and LOTS of messy play. Throughout their time at LT Apollo they got to incubate and hatch chicken eggs, raise tadpoles, have educational visits from the fire brigade, paramedics and so much more! The management team even facilitated taking some children to lessons at the local swim school during the day which was invaluable for my daughters water confidence heading into summer
When my oldest was in the pre-school, her writing, literacy and numeracy skills increased dramatically which meant that she was prepared, confident and super excited to start school.
Would highly recommend.

I highly recommend it as it is well managed, and teachers are not only caring & friendly, but also very highly qualified as educators. In particular, I like their separate rooms for 3-year old, and 4-year-old. Most crèche combine 3 to 5-year-olds into one class which ingores the huge difference in their development stages. My younger girl started in the infant room and I was so satisfied with the high level of attention that teachers gave to each little baby. For me as a working mum, I simply can trust them and focus on my job without worrying too much about the kids:-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We've looked at a handful of day care before easily picking Learning Tree Apollo for our son. The staff have been amazing, and so helpful. It only took our son 3 weeks to fully settle and now he happily puts his shoes and bag on to go to "school". Couldn't recommend it more!

It has been brilliant and we have thoroughly appreciated the warm reception and facilitation management has given us as well as the outstanding care and love our boy has received. In his class he has formed special relationships with the staff through their warmth and patience. Our son has learnt so much and comes home exhausted at the end of the day through the activities and stimulation he receives. The Learning Tree does a great job and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

I have been in awe on how easily he has taken to school this year and that is all down to the preparation that he got from his teachers at Learning Tree Apollo. The little things they do like organise swimming Lessons for the older children help so much when you are both working parents, the weekends are precious and Learning Tree Apollo help out and do what ever they can to make them that way.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have loved our almost 2 years at Apollo, All the staff are so lovely and friendly & do everything they can to make transitions to new rooms or even the everyday drop offs as easy as possible. Your child's learning journey is well documented, its very easy to talk with your child's teachers on anything related to your child and know you have been heard. We are sad to be leaving but needed to move our daughter so she had her final year of preschool with children who she will hopefully go to school with.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Learning tree childcare at Apollo Drive is the best childcare I ever experienced. My first child graduated here and the younger one is currently at the childcare. Our kids love every single one of their teachers, we the parents do too. Their attention to details, patience and most of all, we can really feel their love with the kids. Parents are comfortable communication with the teachers and staffs, they are flexible and show their care toward the family as well as the kids. The manager Maya who really manage the place well, both the teachers and school policies.
Finally, what’s most important to me is that at Apollo Drive, is that the kids learn something new everyday, the teachers put thoughts into their classes and the kids love mat time. I know many childcare the kids spend all day playing. We much prefer Learning Tree Apollo’s teaching style, highly recommended. ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Both of my children attended Learning Tree over a seven year period and my second child has just left Learning Tree to go to school. Initially we attended Learning Tree at Saturn Place, and then when my eldest boy turned five we moved to Learning Tree Apollo as it was more convenient for my commute. Both centres were amazing. It was clear to me early on that they hold themselves to a very high standard (which was very noticeable when compared to some other centres we looked at before we chose Learning Tree). The staff were all amazing and I never had to worry about my children as I knew they were in safe hands. The pricing is competitive, especially considering they provide all food and nappies. My children had no trouble transitioning to school because Learning Tree prepared them so well for this. I would not hesitate to recommend Learning Tree as a great childcare centre.
