β β β β β Lovely staff, went to do some cardio and light lifting. Large and clean facility, lots of water fountains available. Gym had great quality equipment. Level two had weight equipment, the space felt a bit tight for movement when loading and removing weights etc. When gym gets busy there is a bit of a waiting time involved, but due to the location it is understandable. Very good gym experience - 5.00pm to 6.00pm, 09.10.18.

β β β β β I visited after a long pause due to the pandemic fears and was pleasantly surprised with the way the gym routine has been adjusted. There are sanitizers and paper towels everywhere, and spacing marks.

β β β β β My best friend joined this gym few years ago and signed up for the 6 month membership. After 6 months had finished they were still taking money from her account and said she cannot leave. I went once for a free trial but never coming back. Jetts and Cityfitness is better.

β β β β β I'm so disappointed with lesmills lambton quay.
We payed so much money to get little.
My First complain was about the cardio floor. On that floor is warmer then outside the gym on summer. Needed to complaint twice to then receive an email explaining that one day they will fix it.
Then today Friday on 7th of Jan I almost got locked inside the gym at 3 clock. They closed the gym today at 3pm. This is unbelievable.
Besides the fact that you can just go to one specific branch. Doesn't have car park, is not 24 hours gym and always close early.
I'm do not recommend Lesmills.

β β β β β On the positive side, really convenient location and friendly reception staff. Good selection of equipment and no equipment out of action under red setting (vs. Taranaki street where every second cardio machine is out of action).
On the negative side, it looks like I am not the only one to notice how hot / humid the cardio floor is compared to the temperature outside and level 2 (which is noticeably several degrees cooler). Pretty sure the air con is out of action or set too high as it's like a sauna.
This is one of a few maintenance issues (TV's out of action for weeks and still out of action four weeks later as I edit this post!!), TV's on cardio equipment tuned to a Sky sports channel for months that isn't broadcasting!!). Inane (aka uninspiring) Les Mills music channel pumping throughout the gym (you can't event escape it in the changing room! and on the big screen TV's in the cardio area). You want something with a beat, not something that makes you feel depressed (I'm not sure whoever is responsible for selecting this stuff has actually listened to some of the lyrics??)
A big frustration is the number of members who park themselves on a piece of weights equipment and spend countless minutes on social media without actually using the equipment.
Similarly are the members who alongside their personal trainers 'commandeer' weight machines for 10-15 minutes at a time to carry out a 'super-set'. I have tried to use this equipment e.g. leg weights where there is only one machine (while their are off doing other drills) only to be told to wait until they have finished. Monopolising equipment is very self-centred and self-fish when it is being left for 2-3 minutes between each 'set'.
Finally - every so often the receptionist broadcasts reminders about common sense hygiene and Covid related protocols (e.g. wipe down your equipment, carry a sweat towel, wear masks when not exercising etc). As we get deeper into the Covid situation many members are now deciding not to follow this basic advice. My biggest bug-bear is the members who use equipment (including exercise bikes for 15-20 minutes) and cannot be bother wiping down their equipment after use. Also to the handful of personal trainers / cleaners - there is no point wearing your mask pulled down around your chin, either wear them properly or concede that you cannot be bothered wearing them and join with (some) club members who are quite happy putting theirs' and others' health at risk.

β β β β β I thought this gym was great and miss it a lot. The staff was friendly, I loved the rpm classes and body pump, and the are PLENTY of machines to choose from. The cardio room was one of my favorites for sure.

β β β β β Les Mills is a great facility. However their response to request for a different membership plan or fee waive for having to leave the country (to bury a family member and settle belongings and unable to return because of immigration).
Their response: The only way buyout fee's can be waived is due medical circumstance, that prevent you from returning to the gym for life.
As this is not the circumstance use are in the buyout fee is payable
It might just feel like the world is crumbling at the moment and thatβs why it feels like a gut punch.
