★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great fish and chips. The blue cod was cooked perfectly! Cool decor with a bit of seating and lovely owners. Handy location to heaps of beautiful outdoor spots to sit down and eat too. Will be back!

I happily travel from Abbotsford for their food. Treat yourself, eat here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cannot be convinced that there is any better place for Fish and Chips in Dunedin than Local 88. We absolutely love this place, with great portion sizes, the best food and the best atmosphere in the South. Being from the UK, I’m quite fussy about my fish and chips, with a high standard that before we started coming here, never been reached. 88 doesn’t meet the standard - it sets the standard and it has been consistently amazing! Big thanks to the awesome team ???

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best loaded fries in town hands down. Jazz and her crew are some of the coolest people ever. They make amazing burgers. Their platters are awesome. The flavours, wow. If you like a bit of spice in your burger, believe you me, they got you. Highly recommend them. Great food, great conversation, great people.

Chips were crispy with an authentic crunch (two scoops), the fish was fresh, moist and flaky with great bubbly batter and the hotdog had full thick girthy coverage.
Great salt coverage without surprise excess left behind. Well wrapped so still hot by the time I got home. (there's two large pieces of fish there, just lying on top of each other, only ordered one Hoki @ $3.50)
Staff are friendly and the dairy next door is handy if you're after a bottle of fizz and a good yarn.
$12.20 in total, excellent value in my opinion. Check them out!
