Staff were very friendly though we had to wait for them for a while to confirm that we had booked a table and direct us to a table. The Prawn star was very delicious. The rice was very tasty and the salad was very fresh, crisp and crunchy. The Cajun Chicken was very yummy too. Both dishes were of decent size. But the cocktails were average. Overall a good experience, thanks!

I haven't eaten at a Lone Star venue for fifteen years, and I doubt I ever will again: My ribs were tough, fibrous, chewy, partly inedible and got stuck in my teeth. I ate just over half as I'd come to the restaurant with an appetite.$40 for incredibly sub-par food The cheesecake was an additional $14 and was an insultingly thin slice. At least if it tasted good that would be something. Instead I found annoying gelatin globules throughout, chewy, flavour-less and contrary to the smooth texture a cheesecake should have. My friend beside me could barely eat her fish and chips. The fish itself had to be excavated from thick, overcooked batter. She also gave up on the banoffie pie as the crust was too firm for her to cut through. The was just a half-banana slapped on top, no baked into the pie either. No staff checked on the food after it had been delivered to the table, but I hear that several are in training. [edit: I made contact with the restaurant manager as requested below and at first he tried to 'educate' me that ribs tend to get stuck in one's teeth and that they'd delivered fifty plates of ribs that night and no one else found them to be leathery. He then told me the dessert was made in-house and he could not understand what my complaint was about. So I wrote to him a second time and even included a zoomed-in colour-corrected photo so he can understand. Well he thanked me for that and said the restaurant had been asked to issue a voucher. What do I find in the LoneStar app? A $20 voucher! I couldn't believe my eyes, I clicked on it thinking perhaps there'd be some extra details to explain this insulting amount - and it activated the voucher right then, it now expires in forty-five minutes. So have a laugh about that: chewy dry ribs, two gelatin ball filled cheesecakes, a overboard batter-heavy fish and a cement-crusted banoffie - that came to well over $100 wasted dollars there] [edit 2: after further correspondence with the manager he believes that this is an adequate response, even though the two defective cheesecake slices alone cost $28. A $20 voucher is laughable - half that value would vanish just in the fuel taking me back to this restaurant. Thanks to whomever commented below asking me to make contact - what a waste of my time]

Beautiful food and lovely staff...Only damper a damn truck spreading dirt on the horse track decided to do it when we just sat down to eat in covered outdoor area kicking up dust everywhere. Luckily a worker came out and was able to close down tha shades to block dust but it also became too hot...Not restaurants fault at all...All in All would still recommend.

Had our Christmas gathering here with my friends and we enjoyed it very much. The food was amazing, everything from the entree to the mains. The staff are super friendly and the service was really good. P.S. They serve a really good guinnes too with art on the foam.

The food was rough and very undercooked and when I had addressed this with the staff waiter, she was trying to correct me saying that it was cooked twice like she was the one in the kitchen. I am very upset because I tried to talk to her but she kept cutting me off trying to prove her point. It’s no wonder the shop seemed not busy. First off, the wings we had had blood and was undercooked but because we didn’t want to trouble them we ate it anyway just not that piece. Second off, because that happened of course we would naturally assume our mains would be undercooked as well and of course I was correct. My baby ribs were rough, fell off no bones. My partners deer was cold in the middle and also rough. Service was absolutely horrendous and we will definitely not be going there again.

Came here recently to give it a go as it’s the closest Lone Star to us and the vibe was so off which was super disappointing. Staff didn’t ask for our vaccine passes, we waited 15min for a glass of beer, there was a 45min wait for food and tables on either side of us ordered after us but got their food first. Our waitress forgot our drinking water and also forgot the hand washing water for the ribs. Took ages to get anyone’s attention at the end and when we went to pay, nothing was said, just the bill plonked on the table. Food wise, the pork was dry and crackling was soft. Ribs were great, just enough sauce and meat wasn’t dry. The coleslaw, potatoes, stuffing and kumara chips were all very nice. We wanted to get dessert but decided not to after how the whole evening felt.

Came here for a reunion with friends last month. The food was pretty good, but the service is lacking a bit. Servers are inattentive, disorganized, and a bit apathetic to the needs of guests. There was also a long delay in getting our drinks, which arrived after our food got to the table. A different server came by each time, so it was as if one person didn’t know what the other had done. Cocktails are a bit on the pricey side for what you receive — the rum in my mojito was barely detectable. Portion sizes are massive, which you’d expect from truly authentic American fare. Overall, for a ~$75 evening meal, I was reasonably satisfied.

Really nice place, was clean and inviting, staff were friendly. The food was good, ribs however were a little tough but the flavour was great. The Buffalo fries were delicious and the coleslaw was good. I mainly enjoyed the banoffee pie. It had just the right amount of sweetness and the banana was nice and ripe, the presentation was nice also. Will definitely go again in the near future
