Our spaces house and celebrate our communities, and welcome all who wish to join in the fun. And our gardens, pantries and brew stores send a clear message that nature’s ways are understood and honoured here.
In turn, this humming ecosystem of produce, people and place inspires us to explore the ethos further. What beer should we brew next that is worthy of a crowd? What sweet treat will artfully combine the gifts of the season with the tastes of our faithful? What bold, brazen BBQ dish will break down pretensions and unite sticky-fingered strangers? And on it continues, in service to this spirit of connection. How we set tables, how we treat waste, who we recruit, how we train – it is all informed, inspired and measured by asking one simple question: Does this help us to connect people, produce and place?
Connection is our purpose. And we serve it to the fullest. For the glory of mighty Waikanae!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Longbeach Tavern came well recommended... and it most certainly did not disappoint! They were extremely busy and as we had to wait over 30 minutes for our (amazing) pizza and chips, they were very apologetic and gave us an an incredible deal on the final bill! We live 3 hours away but will definitely be back. We highly recommend this Tavern.

Thank you Seth for showing us a few different nice wines the other day. You sold us on a few bottles with your knowledge and genuine interest.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This cafe is so pretty and has wonderful service! The food arrives quickly and it’s very close to the beach, so you can always go for a walk along the beach after lunch or before dinner! It’s also close to a playground, so if you are looking after kids, or like me, you have the babysit them, take them there after! The kids I was looking after loved the playground. The food is absolutely delicious, but takes quite long to arrive, so don’t go there for lunch if you’re in a rush to go to places or have a meeting, because you’ll likely be late. Although it takes long, the food is so worth the wait. It has a beautiful atmosphere, it’s clean and perfect for going by yourself, on a date, or with your family, a stunning cafe with a beautiful setting, right next to one of Kapiti’s most iconic beauties - Kapiti Island.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Even though there was only two vegan Main options (that my partner and I shared), Both were amazing!! and I definetly could have eaten twice over.
I forgot to take photos, but here's an already devoured pizza ?.
(Actually we came back and ate it all again and I took photos).
