★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Short side trip from the main trail. About 10 minutes to reach the top. Amazing views on a clear day. I was in and out of clouds the day I went as a storm was coming later. Really neat feeling to be "in" a cloud. Drop your bag at the bottom the track but make sure to hold down your bag cover on windy days or it will blow off. A friend of mine used a rock to secure hers. There are lots of rocks in the area. **Also be aware the kea birds love unattended baggage. Make sure nothing is sticking out that they can destroy or take*** one kea came flying down after my bag but luckily I was close enough to prevent any missing articles or straps. The birds know people drop their bags here and hang around the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The summit walk is a short detour from the main Kepler Track. You can leave your bag where the sign is and head up to the summit. On a clear day you will get spectacular views.
