★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enquired about a room 4 an acquaintance a while ago .. host lady was rude, rooms were filthy & some paving bricks outside rooms are seriously dangerous, almost tripped walking out the door. I recommend people to go anywhere else but here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Contrary to other reviewers, I found the motel clean and tidy and reception staff extremely helpful in respect to dining options and travelling tips for the area. Would have no problems staying at this motel again.

Shabby towels well pass use by date.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Initially helpful with early check in, then became very stressed about wifi being down, and had no personal info on busses to Gisborne. When I found out 1/2 hr later they are once a day and late afternoon and tried to discuss my options she became quite agitated and dismissive.
$130 for studio room and it was very tired - with peeling wallpaper above basin, and mouldy black sealant around shower. There was a large greasy handprint on the lounge wall. The room booklet said the owners were working to refurbish(in 2011).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice tidy clean rooms receptionist is so lovely great hospitality nearly every room booked out because of the awesome quality of the whole grounds would definately stay again close to the beaches stunning coastal views and not to mention 1 of the 1st places to see the Sun in the world

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The motel itself was fine, clean and tidy but when I left I mentioned that there was no milk and only two coffees for three of us. She said I had to ask for milk and said that the drinks are complementary and basically said I was lucky to get anything. I found her okay when she took my money but rude when I told her about the coffee and milk.
I would stay again but only if all other places were booked up.
