★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love the botanical gardens but disappointed it's difficult for those with wheelchairs to get a good look around as some of the paths need maintenance with few bumps making it a bit unsafe and hard to push a wheelchair through plus steps blocking some areas that couldn't get too. Guess should of sussed it all out better however we also under estimated the difficulty of pushing a wheelchair up those steep paths!
I saw the road cones were still laying in the middle of the pond!
Botanical gardens had great memories of my childhood.. So wanted to take my elderly mum up in a wheelchair as her mobility not best but very let down that no smooth easier access for us to take her all around there so it was very limiting and mum didn't get to see all its glory. The grass was way too hard to push on too. Not all can have electric wheelchairs. I had to borrow the wheelchair so took what I could get to give mum a nice day out and appreciate the loan of the chair as at least mum got to enjoy a family picnic.?The picnic area is nice but only one picnic table under that shelter. I thought there were at least 2 tables. Nevermind got the table once it became vacant.?
Overall it's a lovely peaceful setting for Napier with all the trees and plants and hearing the birds. We loved that part of it. Please keep the flora and fauna going ??❤️
