★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nature at it's best. Lots of walks to choose from. The river walk is choice and an easy pleasure. Up the mountain is more challenging but very do-able at a slower pace. Trails can be very busy so choose your time. Around lunchtime is great to beat the heat. Early morning and late afternoon very active with runners and walkers. Well worth it. Toilets available across from Childrens playpark.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A fantastic park with something for everyone. A big lawn, playground, toilets, a river with ducks and the popular walking trails up and around Mt Parihaka. The walking trails are the best in Whangarei and you can walk to Whangarei Falls or to the Town Basin from here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A real asset to Whangarei with a big open, green area surrounded by bush set up with picnic tables and children's playground. Well maintained walkway down to river and other popular walking tracks. Plenty of free parking too and right in the central city.

Great places to have picnics alongside the river or in top park where there is a play area for children, ie:Swings etc. Highly recommend. I even saw which is great idea, children having their birthday party there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great family area, play ground for the kids and a public toilet. Lots of bush tracks where you can walk along the river or up to the top of Mt Parahaki. Feed the ducks or just lay on the grass and enjoy the sunshine
