β β β β β Rating 1 star is giving too much as we found after our country music club was invited to hold events at this venue. Unclean, unkept is putting it mildly as some of our supporters complained of feeling unwell after eating food served as well as dry reaching when visiting the rest room.
We very quickly sort out a new venue and moved.

β β β β β Digusting and dirty. We arrived to set up the venue, there were dirty plates and food on the ground. Venue manager was absolute hell to deal with. Extremely rude and disrespectful. Would not even recommend as a last option.
The caterers were lovely though! Beautiful food, catering staff and bar staff. Only good thing about the venue.

β β β β β Fantastic place to hire for a function and join as a club. Staff are accommodating and friendly. Views of the Manukau harbour are beautiful and sunsets are breathtakingly. One of the cheapest bars in Auckland and good food prices too. Great benefits for members. Drop in and see for yourself :-)

β β β β β Not a cruiser but love the place for its food. Worth visiting in the weekend. Caterers on the run have taken over the kitchen and the food and service has improved tremendously. Located near Onehunga on the waterfront off Nielsen street exit on SH20. Highly recommended. Will post some photos on my next visit.

β β β β β Had a wonderful afternoon lunch here for my Mother and Grandmothers Birthday of about 60 people. The bar staff were attentive and the caterers were very friendly. The view is particularly beautiful during sun down.

β β β β β TheCommodore of the club single handedly ruined our dads funeral reception. On visiting prior we told the Commodore dad was a lion red beer man and she assured us there would be a fully stocked bar. The bar ran out of lion red and Speights after 3 bottles sold!!!! Music and room was not set up as promised. When we called her to say people were leaving as there was no beer she was patronizing and rude and said she was bringing more and never turned up. I'm still waiting on receipts as we need these for dads estate. The lady behind the bar bless her soul was lovely but visually impaired and struggled to serve 50 people by herself. The two staff were lovely but very very embarrassed about the whole situation. This Commodore made a sad day even harder, she had no empathy and was defensive, rude and uncaring. The Commodore will tell you everything you want to hear prior to booking and then deliver absolutely nothing. Also the cost of the room hire changed every time we spoke with her. Make sure you get everything she says in writing and make sure you get your receipts. I wish I had read more google reviews first as it sounds like things havnt changed much in 4 years. So disappointed as this was my last farewell to my dad. ?

β β β β β We had booked this venue for our fathers after funeral function, his final shout. On the phone the woman (manager) in charge, had originally said it would be a $500 hire charge, but would do it for us for $250. My sister and I agreed to that. The following week, once there checking the place out, she told us that it would be free, no cost, as it was a funeral and she wanted to do that for us. We thought that was extremely kind and lovely. She said she would have bar leaners outside for the smokers, the sound system set up, so just need to plug a phone in for the music. We stated our dad was a Lion Red drinker, and everyone there would be Lion Red drinkers, she said it would be a fully stocked bar. We also checked about tea and coffee being supplied. We were extremely happy with the meeting and agreed to having the venue. As we were leaving she said that there would be a very SMALL CASH fee for staff and cleaning, and clearly stated that it wouldn't be much. It ended up being $380 that she wanted cash for. We asked for a receipt and she ignored us and won't answer to it. After our fathers funeral, 50 of us arrive and there is nothing set up for music. People make tea and coffee, and the milk is expired, lumpy and curdling. There was 1 single woman on the bar, who was vision impaired, and having huge difficulty serving 50 people at the bar AND writing down keeping track of the tab we had put on. She was doing the best that she could do, and we felt sorry for her. It was then discovered that there were only 6 bottles of Lion Red beer in the fridge and once gone no more to replace them. Same with the Speights. This was EXTREMELY embarrasing. The poor man that was left there in charge did not know what to do, and was apologetic. He rung the woman and we spoke to her on the phone. She was rude, told lies, contradicted herself, and really didn't care. The worst hospitality experience ever in my 41 years of being alive. What a disgraceful woman, delivering broken promises at a time of grief.

β β β β β A gem of a venue - even when the tide's out. You won't get a better value Friday night dinner, drinks and entertainment! Relax, have some kai, have a sing along or a boogie. Or consider this as a venue for a celebration with whanau and friends. Prepare to be pleasantly surprised.
