★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been to the Maraetai Wharf Cafe several times over the years for coffee & cabinet food. Over the weekend we stopped and ordered breakfast off the menu and were incredibly disappointed.
The place wasn't overly busy - only one other table actually ordering from the menu, everyone else just ordering takeaway coffee's & cabinet food - but our breakfast still took close to 40 minutes to come out.
By the time it arrived on the table, my pancakes were cold and even SOLID in places! Bacon was tough & tasteless in both our meals.
Plus they stuffed up our drinks order!
Overall incredibly unimpressed & certainly won't be returning.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely little cafe overviewing the beach. Great coffee and the cafe manager Sanik was so friendly and helpful. Must try dish is the Fish of the day. Fresh fish and crispy fries. Very much recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been to Maraetai beach several times but haven’t found any decent cafe there yet. On sunny Sunday, tried other cafes but fully packed. After all popped in here and had brunch. Food was tasty albeit rustic presentation. Good coffee, affordable price, and generous portion but can’t give higher than 3 out of 5. Needs to be improved both in cleanliness and customer service. Cups were not washed properly and the man at the counter, who might be the owner or manager was unwelcoming, blunt,and inhospitable. Also other staff looked so unhappy. Definitely not like the vibes there. Better go to Clevedon or Whitford for brunch. Will never go back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enjoyed the lovely view over a wedding anniversary breakfast.
Staff were great.
Food a little under par.
The Big Breakfast needed a better quality bacon as did the pancakes. Bacon was tough and flavorless.
Pancakes according to my experienced wife were just average - pancakes a little heavy and the fruit flavour overpowered the maple syrup.
Still enjoyed our pavement side view of the world going by and overall good value as per my 4 star recommendation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Last weekend my wife and I got two very nice iced coffees and a delicious almond croissant takeaway then drove 2 minutes further along the coast away from the crowds sat looking at this beautiful view and drank or coffee.
It was a very memorable moment.
