★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dinner was superb. I had the Carribean Maryland Chicken and my wife had the Truffle and Mushroom Pasta. Yumm. What made the meals even better was the excellent service and very reasonable prices. Great selection of ice-cream flavours for desert too. Chris B.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shocking service and extremely unfriendly! Waited for ice-cream from their Movenpick section and they served our friends and then just walked off and served others on the other side (people who all came after us), when I called nicely to ask if we are going to be served they didn't really care and said he will serve the other side and come back....I walked out as this is shocking service and will NOT recommend or ever go back, it was my first time coming here as we normally go next door to Beans on Beach for ice-cream which is amazing and service is amazingly friendly!!! I'll wait for them to open and go there!!!

Staff are helpful and smiling but not coming to you to take order and you should go to them.
Food came to our table quickly.
Menu is really basic and ingredients are basic and normal supermarket supplied. Don’t expect anything flash but basic and nicely prepared.
Again view and location is amazing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the second time we have visited this cafe this year and I would have to say that I am very impressed with the food and the service provided by Raj (the owner) and his team. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and attentive. The menu pretty much covers everything you could want for a casual meal at a very fair price. I had an Angus Beef Burger which had a thick, nicely cooked beef patty and a generous serving of fries, I will definitely be eating here again to be sure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been to this cafe twice in the last 6 months. The food is OUTSTANDINGLY GOOD and of a high quality. I had the best eggs benedict and salmon ever. Our whole table were all blown away by the quality and tastiness of the food. Harmony was our table attendant and she bent over backwards to make sure we were attended to and kept checking back even though she was extremely busy. The ambience is lovely too - very clean venue and lovely looking out over the ocean

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food seems to go down in quality every time I visit. Their “grilled chicken breast” club sandwich was a deep fried crumbed chicken portion in unbuttered cheap white bread. False advertising. It is disappointing as this used to be a fantastic cafe.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The beach cafe is one of the restaurants across the road from Maraetai Beach. They are the ones that have Movenpick. The place looks quite nice and bright. It has a nice view of the beach.
We grabbed a takeaway order to eat elsewhere. We grabbed the calamari, corn fritter with bacon, and the fish and chips. The portions weren't too bad. The corn fritters were more like pancakes with some corn in them though. The other two were nicely cooked. They all came with a side salad and sauce. It wasn't too bad for a takeaway meal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I think Beach cafe has new owners. Wasn't sure about having breakfast here to start with but what a lovely surprise when we did! The staff are friendly and our order came super quick. We ordered eggs Benedict with salmon which was beautiful, a huge portion and the eggs were spot on! We were asked through our meal if everything was to our satisfaction. Now that is what I call superb service. The prices of meals are Also very affordable. Not more expensive than anywhere else. Absolutely no complaints all round. Will definitely be back and highly recommend?
