★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m the proud owner of a post-classic 1962 kauri carvel planked Stewart Matangi on which I’ve lived for over a year now.
The existing gas installation had obviously been DIY-installed and was a mix of copper pipe, rubber hosing, number eight wire and baling twine.
What alerted me to the danger was a stale pungent smell in a pantry cupboard which I initially put down to bilge water and mould. Eventually I traced it to the the adjacent gas locker in the cockpit which led me to call Mike.
I asked for a fully-compliant, modernised system which extended into the cockpit for a BBQ.
What can I say but that I got it - in spades.
Great consultation from a good bloke who totally appreciates the classic yacht vibe, an elegant and subtle installation which is totally in keeping with the older style and full compliance which the Marina Management and Insurance Company both love.

He did an amazing job fitting a new gas line, regulator, stove, and gas detector, all at a very reasonable price. Work was neat and tidy and the caravan was ready for collection the very next day! Friendly and easy to deal with, great communication throughout. Highly recommend!
