β β β β β Topped up here on 7/12/18. Got a few kms down the road to ChCh and my car died. Managed to eventually get to a friend in Camerons and had to swap cars with her as I HAD to get to ChCh. AA was called, drained my fuel tank and found a litre of water in it. Newish car, no previous issues. So angry. Iβve lost a tanks worth of fuel, and been extremely inconvenienced and stressed out.

β β β β β Similar experience as others; fueled up 12/6/2018 - saw another vehicle pulled off the road ~2 Km from station...
1 minute later, the engine in my rental vehicle died. Was able to limp to a mechanic in Hokitika. He informed me that another vehicle had similar issues from this station a week prior.
My best guess is either a contaminated tank below ground, or a botched fuel delivery. Avis rental mechanic informed me they found a mix of diesel, water and petrol after they drained the tank.
Could've been a mess if the vehicle had died in the mountains, or in an area without cell service.
Bottom line - bad fuel! Avoid this station!

β β β β β rental car broke down a km after i filled up on 7/12/18. Was lucky to get replacement car from the rental company. It turned out the fuel was contaminated with water. BIG NO. DONT FILL UP HERE. Go to Greymouth

β β β β β I travel 38km round trip to get my gas from McKeown Kumara, only problem is when the pump or card terminal is down its 19kms on empty to get it from someone else. So someone to give terminal maintenance on a regular basis would be a bonus.

β β β β β Eat your heart out Greymouth and Hokitika best priced fuel by 18cents per litre. Rapped I found it. Its a long way from the fuel tanks at Lyttleton but great price at 2.029 a litre for 91.. 95 is 10cents more today.
