★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have been using the Menagerie for 20 years now. They are really wonderful with our little dogs. As it was the first Boarding Kennel we had ever used, we thought they were ALL like this.. oh no. We used to live in Kawerau, now live in Tauranga- we still board our little dogs at the Menagerie. We tried another Kennel (once) for a weekend. Never again. We open the car door and they run in of their own accord. Once on the sofa, they settle in to watch the movie, and we can go... love it. I really cannot praise them enough. I leave our little fur babies there and do not have to worry when we are away. Which is exactly what you want.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best pet lodging in Bay of Plenty. The amount of care given to the animals is evident by the way my dog races out of the car like it's his second home. Sven is always happy to give tours of the well maintained facility. They will go the extra mile and give the dogs sweaters on cooler nights. I can't speak highly enough of this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Menagerie near Whakatane is a great boarding kennels/cattery, very clean and tidy with CCTV. However their cancellation policy is rather strict. It must be within 7 days and the penalty can be more than your pet's stay. We were penalised $30 for a $28 cat stay we had to cancel within the 7 day window.
